I am so glad that it is absolutely gorgeous outside, not to mention the fact that it's over 60 degrees here. I really hope that this trend continues because I was really getting tired of the dank weather that we've been having.

Plus....I was totally craving Jamba today, must be the awesome weather.

Do you like small scented candles, particularly apple cider, warm apple pie, and things of that nature? This can be applied to anyone local so Jen, you are welcome to these as well. Please let me know.

Enjoy your Christmas Eve!

I will give you a call today after I get home from my sleep deprivation exam so we can figure out a game plan for x-mas gift exchange. I'm thinking tomorrow might be a better day but we'll talk about that a little later.

Hey Katie, remember that huge spruce tree that was in the back yard? It's gone now since it was leaning hard toward your old room. I'm so very glad that it's taken care of and I won't have to worry about it during storms. Just thought I should let you know. ;)

Doh!

I just learned that you need soap to take an effective shower. I jumped out this morning and realized that my washcloth was completely dry, meaning I didn't use soap this morning. I did manage to wash my hair and was definately a bit sad to realize that I had left something out of the equation.

Sad, sad, sad..... >_

Hey Katie, I just received your package today. Thank you so much! It's fine that it is in "duck" colors as I am not anywhere close to a place where people are going to care all that much. Either way, I will send you a little something very soon. Any great plans for your b-day?

Edit: Katie, I just saw your fantastic modeling on the park website. Nice Job! ;)

Hey everyone, just wanted you to know that I'm fine. The surgery went very well and now I'm bionic. There's something about titanium and Gore-tex that just scream super powers. ;) Annie, thank you so much for posting news about me so almost everyone is in the loop. I figured it would be much quicker that way. I arrived home on Sunday afternoon and I am very glad to be back. I will let you guys know some of the down and dirty details when I can be up for longer periods of time, but I figure that I am doing well for being one week post-op as of today. I hope everyone has a spectacular Halloween and eats bunches of candy!

Thanks for all of your thoughts, positive vibes, and prayers they are very much appreciated!

Woo cable internet! It didn't work the entire time I was in Corvallis on the last trip and the modem wasn't online when I got here a half and hour ago. I called Comcast and set up an appointment for the tech to look at it and all of a sudden it works. O_o I'm not sure what that means other than I have the internet to play on for the moment.

I find this to be very amusing. Beware, it might have a little language so those who might be offended, you have been warned....

Go to YouTube and search spiders on drugs. It should be a study on wood spiders out of Canada.

It seems as though this month is going to have its moments. We are only two days in and a lot of people seem to be having issues.

I just received word from Portland that my surgery will be on October 23rd. I have a catheterization on the 12th in Medford to determine what type of outcome I will have from the surgery. My cardiologist informed me that I am not a candidate for a bioprosthetic valve so I must go with the mechanical one. Needless to say I am not thrilled about this, primarily because I will have to take Warfarin for the rest of my life. Mom was severely unhappy because that means no kids for me, but I am more irritated because that might limit the physicality of my possible grad school thesis and future career options. It also means that I can't rock climb anymore, or at least outdoors (something about falling off of a cliff and cracking my head open, I just don't understand it). ;) I am trying to weedle the possibility of climbing indoors which my cardiologist said "of all of the things I know about you, I know that you are an absolute clutz." I'm not going to deny this fact but I still want to enjoy certain activities. Anyhoo, I will be in the hospital for 1-2 weeks post-op and if all goes well I will be on my way home. I figure that I'm gonna miss Halloween but I know I could totally go as Frankenstein this year. ^_^

Well that is the overview of things to come, I will keep you guys posted as I receive more info.

After all of the testing and whatnot that has been done, both cardiology teams say that I need to have a valve replacement within the next month or so. That gives me two weeks to figure out if I want kids and what type of valve I will receive. It is thought that I am not receiving enough blood flow to my brain which may be the reason for all of my issues. Some people argue that I have been brain dead for a long time...I'm ever so glad to be related to them. ;) The surgery will be performed up at OHSU and other than that I have no further details. I will keep everyone posted as soon as I find out any more details.

Mmm...Caribbean Passion. I finally made it to Jamba a few minutes ago and it is amazing as always. I think it has been over a year since my last one. This weekend has been incredibly hectic and I'll post about it when I get back to the parents' place.

Many thanks to Jen for facilitating the Jamba funds! ^_^

Ahh...so I am finally getting caught up on some of my movie watching thanks to Direct TV. I watched Pan's Labyrinth yesterday, it was very good but very weird. I guess that's the tendency for most fantasy films. I also watched V for Vendetta last week. It was just plain weird. It had some deep messages in it, but I guess I didn't give it enough attention because I found it to be rather odd.

By the way, I don't suppose anyone wants some hot tea water in the 90 degree weather. I'm a complete retard and managed to turn on the wrong burner. -_-

Dad and I went to see the Simpsons movie today. It was pretty good. I thought that it would be more funny, but other than that it was like a really long episode. I did get an awesome lunch out of the deal so it's all good. As for my b-day, it was low key. Spent most of the day running around Medford, then I came home and crashed. Thank you all for the fantastic birthday wishes!
